Learning Maya

I'm not really a fan of putting up desktop screenshots as deviations, because they are rarely "art".
But this one time I want to mark what will be big change, namely getting into and hopefully (eventually) mastering Maya.

I've been a 3ds max user for a long time now so it will be quite a change, but a recent visit to a local animation studio showed me that the market is in greater demand for Maya users.

I've been for a long time wanting to get into Maya, but always bouncing back to good old familiar Max. I certainly hope that for it's difficulty Maya will be worth it, because going in blind, it's not really that intuitive. But then again, that's just me being biased.

What is interesting to note is how I've cut off my old main pc off in favor of my new powerhouse laptop. I've removed the archive hdd from the old PC where my tutorial files are, put that into an external case, set up the second monitor (sadly no DVI connection on my laptop, just VGA). So now I don't need to have both pc's on at once or watch the tutorials through the network.

So yeah, this is probably really boring, but I'm just making a mark which will be quite a change. I mean fuck OS-wars, that's nothing compared to the endless debates and differences there are between 3d apps.

So yeah, hope to soon have some 3d models done in Maya.

Oh, also Windows 7 64bit.
